RV rental delivered to your Keys campsite

Reviewed by Ben Kiser, RV rental operator and fleet consultant.

Most RVs for the Keys are based in Miami and Homestead, and the host can bring one down US-1 to the site you booked. Whose delivery reaches your key decides what you can rent.

  • 81 RVs can reach Key Largo, 75 Marathon, 43 Key West.
  • Outdoorsy hosts who priced delivery by the mile on October 8, 2026 charged a median $4.00.
  • Two parks say how they handle a drop. The rest are silent, so call first.

Which RVs reach which key, and what the drive costs

The further down the chain, the fewer listings will come. Delivery is priced at the median per-mile rate against road miles from El Monte RV in Princeton, south of Homestead. The miles are from the Princeton rental lots, the nearest mainland pickup. Most hosts keep their RVs further north in Miami, so the real fee is the host's quote.

At Key West the delivery outruns the rental. One way at the median is $548, which is 4.4 nights of the median RV that can get there. Of the 81 listings, 80 offer delivery: 37 publish a per-mile rate and the other 43 quote it when you ask. The remaining 1 has no delivery range and is already based in the Keys.

The range a host publishes may not reach you by road

80 listings publish how far the host will deliver. The median is 115 miles. Outdoorsy does not say whether that is road miles or a straight line on a map, and every reach count here uses the straight line.

The difference bites at the far end. Two real listings, one in Miami and one in Cutler Bay, sit 112 and 116 miles from Key West in a straight line. By road from the Princeton rental lots, the nearest mainland pickup, it is 137. A host with the median range reaches Key West on the map and falls 22 miles short on US-1, and a host further north in Miami falls shorter still.

So before you book a Lower Keys site around an RV from Miami, ask the host one question: will you deliver to this park, and is that price one way or both? Get the answer in the booking messages, where it stays on the record.

Which parks accept a drop, and the clock that matters

Only two Keys campgrounds say anything about a delivered rental. Several set an arrival cutoff, and a delivery has to land before it. No source permits overnight RV parking outside a campground, and the rules in Islamorada, Marathon, Layton and Key Colony Beach were not researched, so a delivery that misses check-in has nowhere to wait.

Every other Keys park checked, private or state, is silent on delivered rentals. Call the office before you book the RV. Park numbers are on each campground page.

Delivered and set up, or driven down yourself

A delivered travel trailer is set on the site and stays there. You still need a car to get around, and at Bluewater Key that is the only way it works, because the park bars driving the RV once you have checked in.

A motorhome can be delivered too, or you can collect one and drive it down. The first-timer's guide to the Keys weighs the two, and the cost page puts the delivery into a full week's price. If you will drive it down yourself, read what driving the Overseas Highway in an RV involves. A delivered RV that is booked as stationary must stay where the host leaves it: Outdoorsy voids the cover if you move it. The insurance guide has the rest of that rule.

Questions people ask about delivery

Usually, yes, and for most RVs it is the only way one arrives. 80 of the 81 listings that can reach the Keys offer delivery (98.8%). The other 1 is already based in the Keys. 81 can reach Key Largo, 75 Marathon and 43 Key West. The host sets the fee and decides whether to drop at a campground. Book the site first, then ask the host to confirm the drop at that park.

Of the 80 listings that offer delivery, 37 publish a per-mile rate, from $2.00 to $4.00, with a median of $4.00. The other 43 quote it once you send dates and a site. At the median, one way is $140 to Key Largo, $352 to Marathon and $548 to Key West. The miles are from the Princeton rental lots, the nearest mainland pickup. Most hosts keep their RVs further north in Miami, so the real fee is the host's quote. Outdoorsy does not say whether the per-mile fee covers one way or both.

Two say anything. Jolly Roger in Marathon says it works with several companies that deliver and set up RVs and will pass on their contact details. Keys Palms in Key Largo admits only licensed and insured vendors. Florida State Parks publishes no rule on delivered rentals, and every other park checked is silent. Call the park office before you book the RV.

In the Keys it does. Grassy Key closes check-in at 4:30 p.m. and accepts no late arrivals. Bluewater Key refuses late arrivals, closes at 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday, and escorts every RV in. Keys Palms takes no check-in after 7 p.m. without arrangement. No source permits overnight RV parking outside a campground, and the rules in Islamorada, Marathon, Layton and Key Colony Beach were not researched, so a missed cutoff has no fallback. Agree the drop time with the host before you accept.

Outdoorsy does not say. Every reach count on this site uses the straight-line reading, which is the generous one. The median published range is 115 miles. Key West is 137 road miles from the Princeton rental lots, the nearest mainland pickup, so a host who counts road miles may be 22 miles short, and a host further north in Miami further still. Ask before you book.
