Which of these suit each Keys campground

Of the 17 listed right now that publish a size, here is how many sit inside each published limit.

Leo's counts bumpers and racks, and Key West's street rule also caps width. Ask the host for both.

Some links on this page are affiliate links. A booking made after following one earns a commission from the marketplace. It adds nothing to your price and does not change which listings appear here.

What a Class A RV costs for a Keys stay

Seven nights at the $385 median is $2,695 before tax, fees and delivery, $1,925 more than the middle travel trailer. The range runs $260 to $1,500, so the listing you open matters more than the median. 5 of the 17 take long-term bookings, which is where a month at a private park starts to make sense.

How a Class A RV gets to your site

All 17 offer delivery and 12 reach Key West by their published range. Delivery is worth asking about even if you can drive it: once the RV is parked on a Key West site it stays there, because the city keeps RVs over 20 ft off its streets.

How RV delivery to the Keys works

Where a Class A RV can stay in the Keys

At Pennekamp, 16 of the 17 whose hosts deliver that far are listed at 40 ft or under. At Leo's, 11 of the 12 whose hosts deliver that far are 42 ft or under, and Leo's counts bumpers and racks, so a unit near the line needs measuring. None fits Bahia Honda's Sandspur loop. Boyd's takes RVs to 45 ft in select sites.

  • The park page says most sites take 40 ft. 16 of the 17 whose hosts deliver that far are listed inside it. The reservation system lists 62, so the site you are assigned is what has to fit.

  • The cap is 70 ft. All 17 whose hosts deliver that far are listed inside it. Length is not the problem here; the 14-night limit is.

  • Sandspur stops at 23 ft, hitch to bumper. None of the 17 whose hosts deliver that far is listed inside it. Buttonwood, the loop for larger rigs, publishes no cap of its own.

  • Leo's takes 42 ft, counting bumpers and racks. 11 of the 12 whose hosts deliver that far are listed inside it. None of this class is 20 ft or under, so none may park on a Key West city street.

Every Keys state park caps a stay at 14 nights, and Long Key takes no RVs at all. Booking a state park site with a rented RV

What you get in a Class A RV

Also listed as a Class A motorhome. Counts are what the hosts publish on their own listings, so confirm anything that decides the trip on the listing itself.

Sleeping

Sleeps a median of 7. 13 of the 17 sleep six or more.

Size

26 ft to 43 ft, median 36 ft.

Licence

Florida's licence rules for driving a motorhome are not in the sources this site checked. Ask the host what their insurance requires, and confirm with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles before you book.

Driving it

Long, tall and flat-fronted, so you sit ahead of the front wheels and turn later than you expect. None of the 17 accepts a renter aged 21 on its published terms.

What is aboard

  • A toilet and an inside shower on all 17
  • Air conditioning on 16 and a generator on 16
  • Pet friendly on 10 of the 17, set by the host

Who it suits

  • A group of six or more who want a real bedroom
  • A week or a month on one full-hookup site
  • Renters who would rather have the host deliver than drive a big rig down US-1

Class A RV rental questions

The 17 Class A RV listings that can serve the Keys run $260 to $1,500 a night, with the middle of the market at $385. Seven nights at that rate is $2,695 before tax and the host's fees. The campsite is a separate bill: a Keys state park is $36 a night plus tax, a $7 RV utility fee and a $6.70 reservation fee, and private parks add 12.5% tax to their published rates.

17 of the 17 listings offer delivery, at a fee and to a range each host sets, and 12 reach as far as Key West. Jolly Roger in Marathon says it works with companies that deliver and set up RVs. Florida State Parks publishes no rule on delivered rentals, and most private parks say nothing, so ask the park office before you book the RV.

In the Sandspur loop, 0 of the 17 Class A RV listings that reach Bahia Honda are listed at 23 ft or under, the loop's limit measured hitch to bumper. Buttonwood takes larger rigs and publishes no cap of its own; the reservation system's park-wide maximum is 48.

Only at a campground. Key West code keeps any RV over 20 ft long or 7 ft wide off city streets, occupied or not, and bans sleeping in a vehicle on public property. None of the 17 Class A RV listings is 20 ft or under. Boyd's on Stock Island, Leo's, Bluewater Key and Geiger Key are the parks to look at.

Sleeps a median of 7. 13 of the 17 sleep six or more. Jolly Roger allows six people per site, so count heads against the campground as well as the RV.

Florida's licence rules for driving a motorhome are not in the sources this site checked. Ask the host what their insurance requires, and confirm with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles before you book.

Book the site, then pick the Class A RV

In the Keys the campsites run out before the RVs do. Hold the site you want, then open a listing, put your dates in and ask the host about delivery to that address.
